A stump is a trip hazard, a mower wrecker, and a magnet for carpenter ants and fungus. Getting it out by hand is a miserable weekend. We bring track grinders that handle stumps from five inches to a hundred, work around gardens and irrigation, and grind deep enough that you can put sod or a new tree in the same spot. Impact on the rest of the yard stays minimal.
What’s included
- Stumps from 5 inches to 100 inches
- Track grinders for tight and wet yards
- Surface roots that catch the mower
- Grindings hauled or left as fill
- Lot clearing of multiple stumps
- Follow-up after a removal we already performed
How it goes
- Mark utilities and accessWe confirm underground lines and how the machine gets in. Side-yard gates and steep grades are planned, not improvised.
- Grind below gradeThe stump is reduced below the soil line so you can grade, seed, or plant. Nearby roots that would catch a mower can go too.
- Rake and leave or haul chipsGrindings make decent fill. We can spread them, pile them, or take them. You tell us.
Call us when
- You want to re-sod or put a garden where the tree stood
- The stump is sprouting or hosting ants
- A row of old stumps is in the way of a fence or patio
- We just took the tree down and you want the job finished
Questions
How deep do you grind?
Deep enough to plant grass or a small tree. If you are putting in a foundation or a pool, tell us — that may require more than grinding.
Will the stump grow back?
Once the stump and major surface roots are ground, the tree will not come back as a tree. Some species send up shoots from remaining roots; we can treat those if they appear.
Can you do stumps only?
Yes. Plenty of customers had a tree taken down years ago and are done looking at the stump.
