Our goal is to preserve trees that deserve to stay. Certified arborists inspect for health and structural risk using Visual Tree Assessment (VTA) — an internationally recognized method that reads the tree’s body language, confirms defects, and estimates the chance of failure. The most common diseases are treatable if they are caught early. Many of them cannot be seen from the driveway. VTA keeps us from recommending removal of a tree that only looks hazardous, and from leaving a tree that actually is.
What’s included
- Visual Tree Assessment (VTA)
- Disease and pest diagnosis
- Structural risk rating for targets (house, play set, street)
- Written recommendations: prune, support, monitor, or remove
- Pre-sale and insurance documentation
- Follow-up measuring when a defect needs confirmation
How it goes
- Inspect for symptomsBark, crown, roots, fungal fruiting bodies, lean, and the tree’s local environment. We are looking at how the tree is living, not just how it photographs.
- Confirm defects when neededIf the visual exam flags a cavity or a root plate issue, we can confirm with sounding, resistograph-style drilling, or other measurements rather than guessing.
- Decide on the next actionPruning, cabling or bracing, monitoring, replacement, or removal. You get a recommendation you can act on — and a reason.
Call us when
- A tree looks ‘off’ after a storm and you do not want a surprise
- You are buying or selling a house with large trees
- A neighbor is concerned about a tree on the line
- Fungus, cavities, or a sudden lean appeared
Questions
What is VTA?
Visual Tree Assessment. We read growth defects, bark, crown, fungi, and site conditions, then confirm only the defects that matter. It is designed to separate trees that look scary from trees that will fail.
Will you always recommend removal?
No. A good assessment often saves the tree — with pruning or support instead of a takedown. We are not paid extra to cut healthy trees.
Can you put it in writing?
Yes. Written assessments are useful for insurance, HOAs, and real-estate negotiations.
